This Week's Peek!

We had a somewhat quiet, but fun week.  We were blessed with some warm sunny weather, and Daughter used it to play outside and get her hands in the dirt.  I'm starting to 'itch' for spring, not so much because I'm tired of winter or anything, but because I'm eager to get the garden going.  There is plenty to do between now and the garden, so I best get to it.

We made an errand trip to town, and while we were in Goodwill, I picked up this little darling.

Forgive me while I fawn over my chicken clock, but oh, it is adorable!  The cutest little ticky-tocky schmoopy....er...um...yeah.  Sorry.  The hen pecks the ground with each tick of the second hand.  It is a completly wind-up, non electric clock, the alarm works (a little too well, methinks), and it was just 2.99.  I just love it.

We watched Beauty and the Beast on family movie night.  I'd never seen it before....and I didn't like it much, truth be told.  Verbally, physically abusive guy entraps father...then girl....not a good beginning in my opinion, and it was downhill from there (again, in my opinion).  I guess I just don't like the message this sends to young girls.  (Can you tell I'm not a big Disney fan?)

I had another chicken program on Saturday.  The turnout for it was amazing, and the children (and adults too!) really enjoyed holding and petting the hens.  I took a rooster along again this time, and he was quite the entertainer as well.  It was so much fun!  Mid-week, I got initial confirmation about some additional programs in march and April.  Not chickens...not bunnies....more on that when it's scheduled.

Happy Needles met on Saturday afternoon, and I made some more progress on the throw I'm making for our bedroom.  This is what I have so far.

It is taking me 'forever', but we have a lot going on these days, so I just work on it when I can.  Eventually, it will be a big  nine patch with either an edging or fringe all the way around.  It will go on the bed - to match the comforter it's laying on right now.  What do you think?

I woke up Sunday morning with lower back pain, shooting down my left leg.  I am now more familiar than one wants to be with 'sciatica'.  A really hot bath soak helps for 30-45 minutes, so that's something.  I am doing stretches, some walking, and eucharisteo related to it.  :)  I found this when I went to bed the first night:

Dear Mom, this is a leg wrap for your sore leg.  from Olivia xoxo

The end of season three of Downton Abbey.  It was fun while it lasted, but am going to miss it.  Sigh....

 Swimming lessons are going...swimmingly.

What's going on in your world?  What are you up to?  Leave a comment and let me know.

When I had problems with sciatica during pregnancy, the doctor recommended that I wear shoes with a low heel all the time - you might want to give that a try if you can! :)
