Eat From the Pantry Week!

I have a question for you.  When you plan your menu, do you ever follow it completely?  I confess, I do not.  SuperBowl week, we were going to get Pizza Hut on game day, but we ended up making a frozen pizza at home (which was actually really good, and cost a lot less!)  This past week, we decided to move one of the meals to *this* week, because we still had a lot of broccoli from our Bountiful Baskets order, and decided to use it on Sunday for beef broccoli with noodles.

That said, I think a plan is a great thing.  It's a fallback position that allows me to know what's for dinner.  If I get inspired to do something else, especially if it's with something already on hand, what's the harm in that?

I have a pretty diverse pantry, so the grocery shopping I do is primarily a matter of stocking up on the good deals and making sure we have some fresh items on hand.  We are good with fresh stuff right now, and this past week, the sales were nearly nonexistent, so this week's menu is from the crisper drawers, freezer and pantry.  Here's the plan...

Breakfasts (some will repeat)
cinnamon-applesauce oatmeal, milk
cereal, fresh fruit, milk
peanut butter toast, apple slices
eggs w/chopped ham (omelet), toast, orange juice

Lunches
supper leftovers when available
PBJ, celery sticks, oranges
tuna and crackers, salad, apples

Suppers
bbq chicken legs, potato salad, corn on the cob, fruit salad w/nuts
valentine's day - Chinese restaurant for the three of us!
ham, macaroni and cheese, green beans, jello
beef curry, rice, veggie tray w/dip, peach crisp
baked herbed chicken, brown sugar butternut squash, marinated 3 bean salad, peach crisp
turkey soup w/homemade noodles/carrots/celery, crackers, cake  (doesn't cake sound good?)
fish, oven fries, carrot-raisin salad, cake

What do you have planned at your home?

I actually subscribe to a menu mailer which saves me the stress of coming up with meals that meat our needs due to allergies. Even subscribing to the menu mailer, I don't always follow it exactly right and at best switch days to suit us better.

I've always wondered about those, Laura. For me, I think I'd have a hard time sticking to one generated by someone else. How will they know what I'm in the mood for...hee hee! Plus, we have our homegrown stuff on hand, and I'm always challenging myself to use that instead of buying, so I wonder if I'd have to make substitutions? Bottom line, I'm cheap! :)
