Crafting Fun - Necklaces

Photobucket

I keep an eye out at yard sales, clearance aisles and thrift stores for really good deals on craft supplies. One of my favorite finds is storage containers of beads. Often, there will be some really wonderful glass or crystal beads mixed in with some plastic pony beads, all for less than I could buy the container if we were purchasing retail.

Now that I am doing a little more crafting, Little Bit wants to make things as well. We got out some pretty beads and she had some fun.

This is a great use for those divided plates that she has outgrown. In fact, I may borrow them when I'm beading.

While she was beading we talked about shape, size, color and patterning. She also practiced fine-motor skills. Hooray for fun, frugal learning opportunities!

I've been itching to go to the thrift stores around here ~ large picture frames and craft supplies are my target. We shall see!

That's a cute necklace Little Bit made!

I've found that thrift stores are wonderful for frames, J! We have several really nice frames in our home that came from Goodwill or yard sales. Happy hunting! :)
