Happy Thanksgiving, One and All!

Well, I'm happy to report that Thanksgiving Dinner came together just fine. Nothing caught on fire, nothing turned a funny color or anything! The hot food was hot, the cold food was cold, and a good time was had by all. The food was pretty good, too, with plenty of leftovers for us and the neighbors that joined us for the meal.

I spent some time today thinking about just how very lucky I am, and how much I have to be thankful for. I have an awesome family, good friends, decent health and a warm, snug home. I get to stay home with our daughter and watch her discover the world around her. I get to do a lot of things that I truly enjoy, like gardening, tending chickens, and just living in the country in general. Really, I've got it good!

I'm thankful for the things we don't have, too, like car payments, credit card debt, home equity loans, all that stuff that we seem to hear about every day that so many are struggling with right now.

Thanksgiving comes at just the right time of year. We can reflect on all the blessings in our lives, realize how much there is to be grateful for, and then look around to see all the ways we can help others with contributions of our time, knowledge, gifts, resources. Yep, Thanksgiving is perfect timing for moving into Chrismas, and the spirit of giving.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving day, and that as we move into the Christmas season, it is a joyful and peaceful time.

And...how perfect is this...it's SNOWING!!!!
