Back to the Routine! and Menu Monday
We were out of town for a bit, gone for a family reunion. When we got back (Thursday evening) we were busy with checking on animals and gardens, planting some more garden, preparing for and having Father's day...plus I worked all day Saturday. So, today, I finally uploaded pictures from the trip. I'll get them sorted and post some soon!
Just wanted to let you know I didn't abandon the blog! More soon, I promise!
Anyway, this is what we'll be eatin'.
M-Teri Beef, Rice, Macaroni Salad, Broccoli, Pineapple (the double starch is a Hawaii thing)
T-Baked Chicken w/herbs, Quinoa, Fresh Vegetables (garden and crisper drawer)
W-Spaghetti w/Meat Sauce, Salad, Garlic Bread
R-Chicken-Onion Quesedillas, Bean Dip, Salsa and Chips, Nectarine Sorbet
F-Sweet-Sour Meatballs, Rice, Greens from the garden
S-Chicken w/Olive Oil & Herb pasta, Cesar Salad, Sourdough Garlic Bread, Peach Cobbler(maybe on the cobbler)
S-Tuna Salad Sandwiches, Slaw, Pickles, Pretzels
And...I need to come up with some good pasta salad recipes. I have gotten some really good sale prices on bowtie and penne pasta (okay, basically free), I've gotten a lot of smoked sausage and bratwurst for 25 cents a package (yay for sales and coupons!) and I have some fresh garden veggies just starting to come in. I think I can come up with some really yummy, affordable meals for us from all that! (Feel free to share your ideas too - leave a comment!)

Cook your meat and cut it up and toss that in amongst the pasta salad.
cut the link in 1/4s then slice it (so you get triangle pieces) cook pasta till almost done, and veggies.
Saute it all together.
it is a skillet meal they love, and i get them to eat veggies!
