Chicken Project Update

The Chicken Project is an ongoing effort to provide items made from donated yarn in exchange for a donation.  The funds raised will be used to purchase chickens through Heifer International.  We began our effort on October 22, 2013. The first goal is to raise $60 in funds in order to get someone, somewhere, a Flock of Hope for Christmas.

Scarves, packed up and ready to mail!

Our first week has gone well! Five scarves have been purchased and mailed.  One more is pending sale, which means someone has contacted me and funds are on the way.  After postage, we have a total of $56.44 in the fund.  I am so excited, and so grateful for all the support.  Just $3.56 to reach our first goal!

In future updates I will include a cumulative total as well.  Thanks for taking a moment to find out about our progress!  Feel free to check the page and see what's available via The Chicken Project.  Whether you choose something for yourself or a gift for another, you'll be blessing a family in need with a source protein, fertilizer and income, and once the flock begins to multiply, participants share the gift!  Together, we are helping to lift families - and possibly even entire communities - out of poverty.

Here's a quick little video from Heifer International about chickens!

Thanks, and God bless!
