A Peek at Our Week

This is what I've started doing for relaxation - jigsaw puzzles.  We get them at Goodwill for a dollar or less, and pass them on to someone else, eventually.  Unfortunately, the only snow we had this week was the snow in this puzzle.  On Tuesday, it was sixty degrees!  We've gotten outdoors to start moving the mulch that's near the house.  We put it in the chicken run and the bunny barn, where it will keep things nice.  We've also gotten out to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine...but I didn't bring the camera. (sorry)

This is the treasure basket for Sunday School.  If one of the students can recite a verse (that they chose the previous week), then they may choose a treasure.  I hope they like them!

For her Home Life class, this week's project was all about menu planning, budgeting, shopping and making pizza.  This was one of our really great trips - 4 jars of peanut butter, 3 4-packs of yogurt, 2 bags of tortilla chips, 6 apples, 2 chimichangas and a head of leaf lettuce for $6.21.  In other news, my baby is growing up!!

Here's her cooking night:

Look at that beautiful pizza!  Tasty too.  She did a fantastic job.  She also got to cut the olives all. by. her. self.  Along with the pizza, she planned carrot and celery sticks, ranch dip and fresh apples.  We had plenty of pizza to have it for lunch another day.

And just because it's so pretty, this is the saimin we had on Monday.  So simple, so tasty.  Strips of fried spam (yes, on purpose!), bean sprouts, won bok cabbage shreds, carrots, green onion, ramen noodles, a bit of sriracha, soy sauce, dark sesame oil and chili oil, garnished with cilantro.  Delicious, and super affordable.  It's a family favorite.

Well, today we're off to see the dentist and run some errands after school.  More next week!

What are YOU up to these days?

You're making me rethink ramen... :D

Thanks, y'all! Sandra, the ramen, made like this, is really good. Also yum with Thai basil and bean sprouts (like a redneck pho). I think the sesame oil and chili oil are what really make it for me...that and the vegetables.

I love this idea! I may have to steal it. The soup looks really yummy. I'm very partial to soup though. The puzzle is good too. I think we will start doing more of those once things are organized around here.

I love the idea of a photo week in review! I got some great ideas for our house from this.

Paula, she really is growing up. We tease her sometimes that we could put books on top of her head to slow her down, hee hee.

Laura, I like soup too! It tastes good and it's a great way to use up this, that and the other, you know? Feel free to borrow! :) As for puzzles, we had to wait until our cat grew up some, because she'd steal the pieces. We thought she was ready...we were wrong...so any time we're not working on the puzzle we have to cover it with a towel.

Have a great day, everyone! :)

I just noticed my sister has the same table and chairs as you! I also have that exact same puzzle that I put together during cold winter evenings.
