4-H, sewing, and fun!
Little Bit has joined 4-H. Since she is still a young little young'un, she's technically a Clover Bud.
Being a Clover Bud is pretty cool - you get to do projects and earn participation ribbons - and you get to ride on the float in the St. Patrick's Day parade. And your mama gets to walk alongside, to make sure none of those cute little Clover Buds fall off or anything. The parade was last Saturday, and we had a great time!
We didn't have anything green, really, and nothing with the logo, so I did a bit of mother-daughter sewing in preparation. I love wonder-under!
The four H's on the clover represent Head, Heart, Hands and Health. They also represent a lot of corners if you're doing applique, hee hee. Can you believe it? I had clover print fabric in the stash!
We picked up silly hats at the dollar store, and we were ready for anything! Well, anything except the little boy to Little Bit's right, who kept shouting 'I love Chick-Fil-A!!!'. It was a little distracting - can you tell?
The weather was lovely, the shirts held up great, mama could keep up with the 4mph of the float. A good time was had by all!

I'm sure Little Bit will excel in the 4-H program. I'm looking forward to more stories about her activities! (Hopefully, a few of them in person, even.)

The shirts look great! I wish I knew how to applique. How bout a tute? :D :D :D I know, I know---you're as busy as I am and tutes don't come easily! Did you use a site to teach yourself? If so, may I have the link?
Gather up your materials, dearies! You'll need a base - either a quilt square, a shirt, whatever you want, really; some 'wonder under', which looks like two pieces of paper (it has some iron-on stuff in between), the fabric for whatever you want to applique onto your base, an iron/ironing board, sewing machine and thread. Oh, and scissors!
