Busying Up.

It's not even spring, but already, life seems to be ramping up just a wee bit.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here or not, but the local library district opened a new library that is fairly close to home. I sub for the library, and since this is a new location, I'm getting some hours there. This is win-win, because I love working there, they have a great staff, and it brings in a little extra money for all those little hobby farm projects. One of the ladies will be taking maternity leave in a few months, and I'll get to cover some of her duties too. There are even some instances where Little Bit gets to go with me - if there is an age appropriate program that I am going to present, she can tag along so that she gets to participate.

A while back when I disappeared from blogging for 'a while', I was doing some editing and ghost writing. There were things about it that I really enjoyed, and things that didn't work for me. I took a break from it, sorted things out a bit, and now, it looks like I have more writing work. The beauty of writing is that I can work from home, and with a new library nearby, even the research is pretty easy to complete.

How blessed I am to have these opportunities to work and still be present for my family. I even get to do things that I really enjoy doing! And while this means I will be a bit busier, I fully intend to maintain this strange little blog too. Maybe not 5 days a week, but something.

Soon it will be time to start seedlings, finalize a plan for the garden, cull hens and see about some new chicks, maybe get a few turkeys? I think we will have plenty to keep us busy, engaged and entertained. In fact, there's a pretty good chance that this will be the summer when we build our garage! Squee!

What about you? What's coming up for you and yours? I'd love to hear about your projects, dreams and plans. Leave a comment and tell me what you'd like to get done.

I used to love the library when I was a kid. All that information, just for the browsing. That's what I've always loved about the Internet too ...like having a vast library, right at your fingertips! I was an adult with kids of my own by the time the Internet came along. I just love it.

That's wonderful that you can generate a little bit of income but still be there for your family. I think that's what's missing for so many families these days ...a parent who is there when they get home. Good for you!
