Some More Sewing
I am still playing around with those half-a-towels my mom gave me. This past week I made a couple more, pictured above.
This one seems like too small a topper for the amount of towel. On the other hand, the whole purpose is to hang the towel off the knob so we can dry our paws, and it does that...so we'll use it. I'm just not in love with it.
But this one?
Pretty darned cute. But I have a confession.
I got it to this stage...
...and I thought, "Wouldn't it be cute to embroider little red flowers, just a few, on the polka dot top part?" I was feeling overly-confident in my machine's mood, so I dialed up the pre-programmed little flower of cuteness and hit 'go'.
And it went pflurbleglurblethunk. And did this:
So I got out the seam ripper, but I wasn't getting anywhere fast, so I decided I would use my wee scissors to ever-so-carefully snip away the bits of red. You know what happened next, yes? My hungry little scissors bit right into the polka-dot fabric, leaving a wee snippety V shape.
mew.
All is not lost, though. Those same wee scissors helped me salvage the cute little towel topper.
Voila!
I'm loving the happy cover-my-mistakes flower, and thinking of doing the flower (but not all the messing up) on purpose next time.

PS: That's a horrible noise your machine made!
Have covered many such little holes myself. Keep up the good work.
Love, Mom
Ok---so can you do a tutorial for hose hand towels? I need something to wipe my paws on too!
