Super Savings Saturday - Craft Store Edition

Sales...coupons...clearances...all that stuff that you can use to save money at the supermarket works just great at the craft store too!

If I had just wandered in and bought these things without sales, coupons and clearance markdowns, I would have spent about $85.00. I got everything here for right around $25.00 - roughly 70% off.

The nice lady at Jo-Ann's said that this time of year, they are clearing out all sorts of things throughout the store, so whatever it is that you love to do, check for markdowns.

Have you used clear stamps? They're awfully fun - easier too!

I've also gotten a nice big pile of art books from the library, full of ideas and inspiration. I'm eager to try a few new techniques.

I fed my family this week too, and we stocked up on a few bargains. There were some great deals on HBA items - free toothpaste, free deodorant, but truth be told, I'm happiest about the craft supplies. Check the sales in your area, then get back here on Wednesday for "What'cha Workin' On Wednesdays" and share your latest projects with us. :)

Oooo so pretty. I love craft stuff and it can be so hard to control that spending! Great job!
Oh Sister I hear you! Craft stores are my porn stores for sure. I could spend weeks there and still not have enough.

I have seen plenty of those clear sticker thingy's but never knew what they were for. Could you do a post on what to do with them?

Gill, these are not the clear stickers - these are clear rubber stamps. I'll show how to use them soon! I really like them because you can see through the stamp and know exactly where it's going on your project. Also, they are much more affordable compared to the standard rubber stamps (which I also have).
I went to JoAnn's last weekend with coupon in hand, too. My mission was to purchase some essentials for quilting ~ cutting mat, rotary cutter and ruler. I lucked out and found all three in a set on sale 50% off. I added to it my 10% off coupon, so I was pretty tickled!

I so badly wanted to stay for hours and touch and feel everything...but I needed to get home to prepare dinner. Heehee It's probably just as well.

But! I got another 40% off regular priced items coupon in my inbox this morning. Ruh-roh!
