I admit. I laughed.
As background, you have to know that Little Bit's favorite music album right now is 'Songs of the Cat' by Garrison Keillor. Yes - the Lake Wobegon, Prairie Home Companion Guy. We listen to it two or three times a day. It's a little over an hour long. mew.
One of the songs, entitled, 'Cat, You Better Come Home', has the following chorus.
..."I said, 'Cat, you better come on home.
There's dogs in the dark waiting to attack
And cat hawks looking for a late night snack,
So cat, O cat, you better come on home..."
It's one of Little Bit's favorites.
Today was a pretty day, so we went to the park to play. She had been 'snacky' all day, eating some fruit, a scone, a stalk of celery, so she hadn't really had a proper lunch. I grabbed a couple slices of ham from the fridge and gave them to her (in a napkin) on our way out the door. The protein would hold her for a while, and she loves ham.
I start the car, we head for the park. She eats the ham. I ask her if she wants some water, and she does, so I hand her the water bottle.
After she's done drinking, she tells me,
"That was good ham, Mama. I really snarfed it.....I'm a ham hawk."
(if you didn't get it, read it out loud)
