Little Angels
These are so sweet, and so easy. I sent some out to friends for Christmas, so I decided to wait until now to share the idea - I didn't want to spoil the surprise.
Originally, I saw the idea at Heavenly Homemakers, and I just fell in love with it! Laura shows them as a sweet Christmas Ornament, but I know a lot of people who like to keep some angels around all year.
I think they are really cute just like Laura made them, but I had these beads with little faces on them...and these beads I could use for halos, so my angels are a little different. Just like Laura (if you are confused, yes, my name is Laura, and so is hers - I'm not really talking about myself!), I got the butterfly paperclips at WalMart. I only had four of the little beads with faces, so I have four more butterfly paperclips to create with at another time.
All you need are some butterfly paperclips, beads and ribbon. I'm a 'use what you have on hand' girl, so all I had to get were paperclips.
It is a fairly simple assembly - loop the ribbon onto the paperclip and pull it snug.
After that, I put a 'neck' (spacer) bead, one of the little faces, and a 'halo' bead. I tried several - some didn't really 'work' for me, but they are kinda cute!
I loved how the bottom bead on this one makes a lacy little collar, but it wouldn't stay seated properly, and kept shifting until the angel looked bent. I had to go with something else.
The spacer bead on this one worked out best for a neck. The top bead, however, looks more like a hat than a halo!
Speaking of halos - this one is just too big! (kind of cute, though)
I really like this one. The top bead is a cute halo. I have a lot of beads, but I only had one like that, so I used something slightly different for the other three.
There! Cute cute!
I wish I had more of those cute little heads. I don't even know where to get them - they came in a shoebox full of beads my parents snagged at a yard sale - probably ten or more years ago. I'll just have to be happy with my little angels and leave it at that. Or...maybe I could paint faces on some beads?

My daughter will love to do this one.
Love, hugs and prayers...as always.
