Weekend Work.

It was a hard-workin' weekend at Ten Things Farm. We were up bright and early sprinkling gardens, hauling and putting down mulch, tending chickens and planting seeds. Mid-days found us cleaning out the barn, gathering scrap metal, hanging out laundry, organizing materials and (in hubby's case) mending the barn roof! Toward evening there was mowing to do, not to mention finishing up all the projects from each day.

We got a lot done. Hubby took a truckload of scrap to the scrap yard, and we found more wood to cut up for the wood stove. We found a lot of things in the barn that we 'forgot' we had, some of them useful, some of them gone or on the way out (does anyone need a dusty but fully operational exercise bike?)

We're using some leftover river rock to define pathways and borders - it is so pretty! It amazes me how much it changes the look of an area to actually draw a line through it, even if the line is drawn in stone. We even 'found' a really nice spirea that we'd planted back by the barn long ago. We moved it to a better spot, and it looks great!

I'm really happy with the results of our busy weekend. We still have a list of things we'd like to get done soon, but it's a bit shorter thanks to all our efforts.

So, how did you spend your weekend? What did you get done?

Sounds like a great weekend. Did you get anything in the mail recently?

Yes, yes I did! I thought I posted about it at the Tavern - I'm sorry if it didn't go through! The caramel pops are the BEST - in fact, I shared one yesterday with Little Bit! :) Thank you, Toni, and I'm really sorry you didn't get the message that they'd arrived!
