Emergency Lighting - an Easy Solution.
Sometimes the power goes out, with or without warning. And sometimes, when the power is out, we need a little light. I wanted to toss this one out there for a few reasons:
1. It's easy. All you have to do is shop.
2a. It doesn't require batteries, which are always 'lost' (or more likely, busy) when I need them.
2b. It doesn't require matches, or lamp oil, or any other sort of fuel.
3. There is no flame to burn a little kid (or her clumsy mama, aka ME).
4. They are 'in season'
Did you guess yet? I bet some of you did.
Next time you're in a store that sells 'garden stuff', pick up some of those solar charged walkway lights. They look like little tiny torches that are about a foot tall. You stick the stick (heee) into the ground, the wee solar panel on top charges them during the day, and at night, they give light for your path.
If you bring them inside, they can give light for your path to the bathroom, or to the basement, or wherever you need to go. If you stick one in a vase, it's almost like having a lamp. Well, sorta.
And right now, they have them in all the stores. And as much as I love hand-made, home made solutions to all the problems out there, this one is, IMHO, worth shopping for.
See ya in the garden department!
