Hotbed Update

Well, we have a lovely crop of weed sprouts in the hotbed. Actually, I'm glad about that...and I figure we just might have some lettuces sprouting very soon! It does get hot in there, so I'm making sure I vent the glass during the day. It gets pretty cool at night in there too...this would probably work better with a double layer to buffer the extremes.

However...the whole thing has me thinking about building something similar under the chimney on the house...a solar collector that would funnel some free heat into our basement. Hm....
