Christmas Eve

We've spent the day playing together, doing a bit of preparation for tomorrow, and enjoying the anticipation of Christmas Morning.

Well...we haven't told Little Bit that tomorrow is Christmas. It'll just keep her up all night, so we've just thrown her hints, like....

...Christmas music all day long, and...

...phone calls to family far away, and...

...access to the candy canes, and...

...driving around to look at Christmas lights, and...

...using holiday cookie cutters in the playdough.

One of the things I'm really enjoying is watching her decorate and re-decorate her little tree. She just started this a day or two ago - she gathers a few choice ornaments from the big tree and makes this little tree all pretty. Later, I find it naked...later still, it's adorned with a new set of decorations. She's having such fun with it! She even puts a few presents around it.

Earlier today I noticed some of our nicer (and more fragile) ornaments on her wee tree. I asked her if she was supposed to have those. "Probably not. I had to use my step stool to reach them." I let it go. After all, now they're only about a foot from the floor, max.

Christmas Day our neighbors are joining us for lunch. We're having glazed spiral ham, homemade macaroni and cheese (with the crunchy breadcrumb topping - yummy!), steamed broccoli and possibly green beans...or a veggie tray...I still don't know! Tonight I made a pan of baklava. It's supposed to be dessert tomorrow, but I'm tempted to hide it all for me! I'll share that recipe soon. Until then, feast your eyes on this gorgeousness!

I hope your Christmas is all that you hope for, and that you are blessed by the season. Merry Christmas, Everyone!

Love and hugs,
-Laura

Your Baklava looks absolutely scrumptious, Laura! I've always been too intimidated to attempt Baklava ~ or is it pure laziness? I am looking forward to your recipe!

Merry Christmas to you and your precious family! May your blessings be abundant.

Merry Christmas! Her tree looks so cute. I remember getting my own tree once when I was a kid, it was so much fun.
