Menu Monday.

We spent the weekend de-cluttering (bedroom closets and chests of drawers - woo hoo!), working outside and spending time together as a family. It was hot, hot, HOT, but it stayed fairly cool and comfortable in the house. We worked our indoor/outdoor schedule around the hot temperatures, and we got a lot done!

Here's the menu for the week, just for fun!

M - sweet/sour meatballs, rice, glazed carrots
T - oatmeal (made w/milk), fruit and nuts
W - spaghetti, garlic bread, swiss chard, apple crisp
R - chicken-onion quesedillas, bean/corn/tomato salad, salsa & sour cream
F - bacon and eggs, toast, hash browns
S - chicken w/indian style rice and peas, green salad (lunch)
and tacos & refried beans (supper)
S - grilled smoked sausages, french fries, nectarine sorbet (lunch)
and homemade chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese (supper)

I'm also making some hard-cooked eggs for snacks, a batch of tuna salad, some pasta salad and some sausage patties so that hubby can make 'McMuffins' if he's hungry when he gets home from work.

We plan a menu for a few reasons - it makes us better at using things we have on hand, and it saves a lot of stress/hassle during the week, because I don't have to figure out what to fix at the last minute! We change the menu as needed - it's not etched in stone or anything, but it really is helpful for us. Do you plan a menu? What are your family's summer favorites?
