Wow, what a Weekend!

I hope your Memorial Day weekend was fabulous - ours was! We got some work done, and fit in some play too!

We're still planting garden - potatoes are peeking through the soil, tomatoes and cabbages are starting to take off, and the peas are growing. We planted summer and winter squashes, pumpkins, cukes, cantaloupe and melons.

Some things are getting big enough that we can mulch them now. Once we get them mulched, they really start growing. The mulch keeps weeds down and holds in moisture, plus it breaks down over time to enrich our soil. It makes gardening in such a dry, harsh climate a lot easier.

We cut some firewood, cleaned out the henhouse, took down some trees that didn't make it through winter, and raked up a bunch of loose mulch from around the house (it was windy this winter). Hubby did all the raking, digging....he's been working so hard!

We were in town Friday doing some errands, and saw them setting up a carnival. Saturday evening, we went back to town to have a little fun. We had the best time! We rode the Carousel (twice), the Safari Train and we flew an Airplane! (also twice - she loved that one!) Little Sweetie really loved the 'big' rides, the lights, the sights and sound. She got to choose a duck and win a prize, and she had her first ever taste of cotton candy!

Here are our Carnival Photos!

We had a wonderful time. After we got home and got her to bed, I realized that we've set ourselves up by taking her to the first Carnival of the year, because now, she's going to beg to go every time she sees one!
