Perfect Timing, Toni!
I went out to the mailbox yesterday afternoon and found...
Mostly, we get bills and junk mail. Surprises from Italy - wowee!! I put the box on the table for a minute, just soaking up the excitement and anticipation. When I opened it....
We were all tickled pink! Pasta! Chocolate! From ITALY!
The kidlet was especially excited. We don't watch TV much, so she doesn't quite know who the Disney Princesses are, but she sees them on stuff here and there, and she has some books and things with their pictures. She calls them 'The Ladies'. As soon as she was done dancing around the room, she wanted 'A lady chocolate, and for dinner some lady noodles.'
I cooked up quite a few 'lady noodles' last night, certain I'd have some left over for today's lunch. Nope. She ate every single one I'd cooked. Today's lunch menu was spaghetti and meatballs, salads and garlic bread. I told her we'd make the lady noodles instead of spaghetti. She asked me to make spaghetti for Mommy and Daddy, and lady noodles only for her. Hee hee, okay. She did put some in a bag for our next door neighbor Natalie, almost two. So she is sharing...just not with us.
Toni - the chocolates are amazing (and I've had to share every one I've eaten with you-know-who, lol). When she wasn't looking, I tried the pasta too, and it's great! Thank you so, so much!! Again, your timing was perfect!
Oh, and in case anyone's wondering, 'lady noodles' don't seem to have any effect on etiquette. I was hoping that eating them would equate to eating like a lady. Instead, she ditched the fork and ate them - covered in sauce and meatballs - with her bare hands. And it all happened so fast that I don't have a picture!
